Nothing more than a sampling of misery Submitted by you in the form of a recipe One part me, mixed thoroughly Stirred emotions in perpetuity Two parts us, sliced and spliced Cut into pieces as desire diced Friendship into forbidden love Pushed into strangers with a shove No one to blame for the gentle spice Attraction blissful and wishful to entice Brought to a boil on life’s stovetop, Contained so perfectly without spilling a drop All good things must end, indeed so true Silverware settling before the meal was through Leftover discarded instead of refrigerated No resurrection suitable for what we instigated Moving on with my life, china in the sink, Sitting in suds as I try to think Why she left me without a hint or mention Why she left me alone in this kitchen For awhile, I was angered with no food for carving Depressed by the notion she would leave me starving Yet I’m finding new ways to preheat and bake Forgiving us for the mistake we did make The dinner dies yet a new dawn will brighten Breakfast will be hearty and my spirits will lighten But I must say she fulfilled every single wish I sought from love in such a delicious dish!
misery , move on !
