The mirage that deceives the tender heart
The poisonous thorns penetrating the soul
Destroying the spirit so gentle
Yet refuse to escape its treacherous hold
And never desiring to break away from the pain and sorrow
Paying the deadly price to hold on

A dangerous addiction causing pure misery
Yet my heart remains full of bliss

The midnight rose that pierces my delicate skin
The feeling of the toxic thorns that are deep within me
Filling my veins with the venomous toxin
